Not a "One Size Fits All" Approach
The strength of all of the customized LDS programs rests on our ability to respond to the unique needs of the working professional. We have had extensive experience with instructional programs in a variety of formats: individual, small group, mid-size groups and seminar settings. We’ve designed traditional, long term (i.e., once weekly sessions) and intensives (shorter timeframes, lengthier sessions). Since the launch of our Online Training Center in 2002, we have also done some distance learning options for individual coaching and seminar formats. One of our strengths is that we help clients determine the communication style needed for their work setting: that allows both the trainer to quickly zero in on the missing speaking and language skills the participant needs - for present and future options.
Our programs prioritize the coping strategies that will help the speakers effectively handle the communication situations their jobs entail. In addition, to addressing all pronunciation and intonation issues critical for improving accents for oral English, we create customized vocabulary lists, and devise situational role plays for problem areas at work, such as:
- writing skills for business issues (reports, emails),
- meeting leadership skills, and
- strategies for conference call clarity and efficiency.
Referral Network
The Training Coordinator, Lorna Sikorski, maintains close supervisory contact over all trainers delivering instruction. However, many individuals contact us for training that do not fall within our direct program zones. Contact us to discuss a distance learning option via our Online Training Center. That is, live, real time training sessions over the web with a rich, dynamic range of teaching strategies available. You may prefer face to face learning. For you, we have an extensive list of Preferred Trainers who have received their professional education as accent trainers via LDS. The advancing levels of trainer education and annual educational refresher courses available through LDS is your assurance that your motivation and diligence during your classes will be rewarded by improved speech clarity for English – and a more relaxed approach to communicating in your second language.
