Our Primary Mission: Delivering the highest caliber professional training available
Since 1988, delivering quality train-the-trainer programs for accent has been our primary mission. Since then, these 2-day onsite programs have been scheduled annually in US and Canadian sites. Additionally, we extend our outreach to International Trainers by routinely accepting invitations to conduct this same training for speech-language pathologists in international organizations.

Our Extended Mission: Staying on the cutting edge
All the LDS onsite programs have been solid, successful trainings from the inception. Yet, even successful ventures should be updated and recharged – and LDS has never rested on past laurels. When the technology supported our training expections, we moved into the future with quality Distance Learning.
The LDS Training Center continues to evolve and improve:
- In 1995, we introduced the advanced training level for accent. To date, no other training organization offers anything beyond the basic level.
- In 2003, we added the Online Training Center, to provide realtime, online professional education options to our basic and advanced onsite programs.
- In late 2003, we augmented our basic and advanced training courses with The Unique Webinar Series – for particular populations or related topics.
- In 2005, we delineated ourselves further as the leaders in comprehensive trainer education: LDS announced a third tier of advanced training for the seasoned professional. This online series delivers advanced marketing and applications the experienced trainer needs to grow.
- Also in 2005, LDS introduced Trainer Certification for Accent Testing: a POEC certification program many have been asking about.
- Our online software is state-of-the-art, provided by iLinc. Our program delivery benfits by their frequent and impressive improvements. In 2007, we added quality video feeds to programs. iLinc added a ‘green meter’ to their platform in 2008, allowing all of us to monitor our carbon footprint.
- In 2006, Online Training became a separate category in our Web Store. Trainers can see up-to-the-minute information about all our fee-based webinars and web series: thorough course details, pricing, subscription rates, etc. Purchasing courses is streamlined with the Web Store cart.
- By 2008, LDS raised the bar in our commitment to greening our
company:
nearly all our deliverables to attendees (i.e., course descriptions, course
handouts, knowledge quizzes, and evaluations, etc.) take advantage
of electronic delivery. Not only do we become ‘greener’, but
participants benefit as well! Attendees get (significantly) expanded, more
comprehensive, and extremely current content that is: 1) easily downloaded
via our website links, 2) impressive content size set up as electronic
files on cd for our full-level programs, or 3) links for downloadable files
released to you when you purchase training in the Web Store! - The look and feel of our course documents continually improves: each new edition is more polished and sophisticated. We take advantage of every print and visual upgrade in document publishing that the latest technology provides: color, format links, pleasing icons, etc.
