The Level I Series titles:

II. Intonation Testing and Analysis Basics
III. Consonant Testing and Other Assessment Issues
IV. Vowel, Intonation, and Consonant Testing Review
V. Instruction: Basic Building Blocks

VII. Marketing ABCs for Accent: Putting Your Best Foot Forward
Level I is our basic professional education course for Trainers. The content is identical to that of the LDS onsite course – Accent 101 – with some added benefits: private review time of the video testing samples, and slightly greater depth and time allotted to each topic than is possible in the 2-day course.
Now available, Level One Immersion Series!
The seven modules in this series cover three, broad-based topic areas:
accent assessment
Level I is your chance to solidify/review your accent accessment efforts
via the best-selling POEC, the LDS accent
test. Testing issues are covered in the first four webinars. Just as in the
onsite training, participants do
the practice scoring with real, videotaped POEC assessments – with a
bonus. Webinar attendees have 10 days to review and refine their practice skills
with the videotape – pace, minus any group pressure to 'hurry up and get it!'.
instructional content and basic formats
Regardless of the training format you choose, there are essential teaching
issues for improving American English accents that should
be the building blocks
of an effective program. You then must identify the best teaching format for
your goals, addressing these issues with economy of cost and time in mind,
and be ever mindful of the workplace needs and learning habits of the adult!
These are addressed in two webinars in Level I.
marketing
Having a broad knowledge base for accented speech brings depth to your training. It doesn’t, however, automatically result in: 1) customers who are content with their progress or 2) getting paid what you’re worth! That requires knowing how to match testing results with participant needs and expectations…and knowing how to price it right! The marketing webinar includes an interactive activity that is expanded on your own time and returned for our input, if desired.
Procedural Information:
Expect
interactive sessions, punctuated by live and written Q&A, as well as audience
polling. If you’re unfamiliar with the online learning experience, you’re
in for a very positive training solution! Attend the introduction via the Tour to allay your fears and move forward today!
How do I coordinate enrollment in the class with payment here in the Web Store?
The specific details of each webinar are outlined in the Web Store, under
the Online Training category. The current calendar of offerings, and repeated,
(perhaps elaborated and/or unique) details of the current offerings, are found
in the Online
Training Center Calendar.
Your decision-making checklist:
Determine
whether you want to select a limited number of courses or would prefer an Online
Subscription to the series (at a significant discount).
If
you purchase a subscription, you pay first, and then choose courses at will,
within a 6 month time period.
After
establishing your subscription - or when you want particular courses only, go to the calendar,
choose what interests you, and click ‘register’, filling out the enrollment form.
You
receive ‘pending’ acceptance via email. Enrollments are not automatically
approved: we review and accept attendees manually to ensure that they are in
the correct course. Once approved, you will then receive a emailed acceptance
notice.
After
reviewing the current course details, you go to the Web
Store, find the course under the appropriate category, and purchase
the course, specifying the time you’re registered for.
