Level II Series titles:
A. Spotlight on a Language Family
B. Digging into Intonation: A Look at the Principles Involved
C. Principles of Adult Learning
D. Facilitative Selling
Level II parallels the content of the Beyond the Basics onsite course. Some hands-on practicum is included. To keep these courses at a challenging level for the more experienced trainer, we carefully screen participants. Check our our Trainer Needs Assessment to see if you would qualify for any/all of these courses at this time. Certainly, feel free to contact us to brainstorm your unique experience level.
The four modules in this series address specific topics in three, broad-based areas:
accent
assessment
Level II-A broadens your assessment skills by viewing testing within the confines of a specific language group. Again using the POEC, we look at patterns and differences for not only accent issues, but language issues. We also expand to look at conversational speech samples for rating purposes. Just as in the onsite training, participants do the practice scoring with real, videotaped POEC assessments – with a bonus. Webinar attendees have 10 days to review and refine their practice skills with the videotape – plus, minus any group pressure to 'hurry up and get it!'.
instructional
content and basic formats
There are two webinars in Level II dealing with unique and challenging aspects of training for this population. Level II-B is an advanced look at intonation issues – the critical component of polished communication in any language. This definitely is a ‘beyond the basics’ exploration that more experienced trainers will welcome. We look at the trainer’s ‘bag of tricks’ for improving intonation in various format applications as well as unique, linguistically-based prosody variations. Level II-C looks at the trainer’s competencies for working with adults: how learning is different with adults -- and how to make the most of adult learning behaviors.

marketing
Level II-D webinar addresses a specific approach to the selling process – as
a partner in your prospect’s problem-solving. This is an extremely interactive
discussion with frequent opportunities to reflect on your current marketing
applications.

How
do I coordinate enrollment in the class with payment here in the Web Store?
The specific details of each webinar are outlined in the Web Store, under
the Online Training category. The current calendar of offerings, and
repeated, (perhaps elaborated and/or unique) details of the current offerings,
are found in the Online
Training Center Calendar.
Your decision-making checklist:
Determine
whether you want to select a limited number of courses or would prefer an Online
Subscription to the series (at a significant discount).
If
you purchase a subscription, you pay first, and then choose courses at will,
within a 6 month time period.
After
establishing your subscription - or when you want particular courses only,
go to the calendar,
choose what interests you, and click ‘register’, filling out the
enrollment form.
You
receive ‘pending’ acceptance via email. Enrollments are not automatically
approved: we review and accept attendees manually to ensure that they are in
the correct course. Once approved, you will then receive a emailed acceptance
notice.
After
reviewing the current course details, you go to the Web
Store, find the course under the appropriate category, and purchase the
course, specifying the time you’re registered for.
