iLincis our meeting system format. We continually gain wonderful enhancements to our online training with every new iLinc update. Recent improvements include the addition of live video options in our webinars and, at last, opening our online courses to Mac users.

Please check out the FAQs below and see how easy it is to mesh your computer set up with our online system:

Does iLinc work over a dialup connection?
Yes, iLinc supports audio and all session content tools over a 28.8 kbps dialup connection. In addition, iLinc supports low bandwidth video over a 56 kbps dialup connection.
I'd like to try this out first so I'm sure it's right for me - and my computer!
Of course! We've added the Test Drive of the Online Training Center for that express purpose. These (usually weekly) events are 30-minute live tours. We conduct them just like our formal webinars. It is a courtesy event, with plenty of opportunity for Q&A. Why not sign up for one now on the LDS Online Training Calendar?

Telephony and Voice over IP (VOIP) Required
When our webinars go live, attendees can participate from any location - with just their web browser and a separate telephone line. LDS provides toll-free Telephony for Canada and the US. Telephony for international venues is easily available as is VOIP!

One of the things that holds people back from participating is the fact that their internet utilizes the only phone available: that's when VOIP comes in! With a special headset/mike plugged into the computer, you can solve that problem. For international participants, this is the only way to go! Contact us to check this out on your system.
With Voice over IP, can more than one person talk at once?
The session leader and one other participant may talk at the same time.
Do I need to download anything on my computer to do your webinars?
You will need the iLinc Client, which automatically downloads when you join an LDS webinar. The iLinc Client provides the online meeting space and environment in which participants, instructors, meeting leaders or help desk technicians communicate, interact, and collaborate using a variety of tools. It’s a small plug in for your computer that passes the firewall test for the largest of companies! We encourage you to click the link below, which downloads the plug in and your system! now:

Our provider, iLinc supports the following Web browsers:
· Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
· Firefox 1.5 or higher
· Safari 2.0 or higher
If I use Firefox, is there anything special I need to do to configure iLinc?
Download/save the session.exe file. After saving the file run the file from where it was saved by double clicking on session.exe.
I know that my computer’s age might be a factor in how well it will perform with various programs. How does it affect your webinars?
Because our iLinc-driven webinars provide real-time collaboration and sharing over the Internet, performance depends on the Internet itself and your network performance. The speed of your connection to the Internet, your ISP availability and peak usage on your network are all factors in performance. They could cause you to experience latency (slowdowns in movement on your viewing side!) in a webinar.
How do I install the iLinc Client manually?
Go to the iLinc config test on the calendar. When you click that link in the blue bar, Part one of the test will ‘process’ automatically. Here is a picture of what your screen should say when it opens up! You can check your system right now, whether you're ready to participate in a session right now or not! Don’t forget to click the ‘Start Part II’ button at the bottom of that screen. This takes a bit longer, but patiently wait for a new screen to load: it will put you inside a dummy meeting frame that is your assurance that your future Webinars will load properly.
How big is the iLinc client download?
The iLinc client download is 2.4 MB.
How do I make sure that I have the correct system configuration before I join a session?
Go to https://ldsassoc.ilinc.com/perl/ilinc/lms/systest.pl and complete a pre-webinar configuration test. Or, go directly to the calendar and look for ‘System Test’ in the white bar.
