Welcome to the LDS Online Training Center!
What is ‘distance learning’? It seems to be one of the training buzz words of the new century. LDS defines it as an online virtual meeting service that allows us to conduct training with
- anyone,
- anywhere,
- without traveling to a common meeting place.
With the launch of the LDS Online Training Center in 2002, we sought to deliver the content of our very successful workshop series on accent – and take it one step further. We have continually refined our course offerings for Professional Education and broadened our initial concept to include guest speakers, trainer support services, product information, to name a few! The response has been uniformally excellent. The key, of course, is knowing the teaching strategies necessary to make the virtual classroom successful.
If done well, the ‘webinar’ format can:
- match the productivity of workshops
- offer the most spontaneous, dynamic, and rich environment available on the web
- be far more cost-efficient than traditional continuing education – and we all need an alternative to the rising costs and shrinking reimbursement for work-related travel!
