While you can take the Webinars as self –paced events (recorded
events 
that are accessible 24/7), we began the Online Training Center
with the intent of having live, interactive, instructional ‘rooms’ on
the internet. Attendance remains limited to nearly the same numbers as our
live events: we
want to be able to answer text chat promptly, have enough time for Q&A,
and do what we have always done best in workshops: keep everyone engaged
and
motivated!
Many of you have told us that it is impossible to attend weekend conferences……yet others say that's the ONLY time they can go! With the increasing costs – and hassle - of travel and shrinking continuing education reimbursements, we’re all looking for alternatives. The LDS Online Training Center is our state-of-the-art alternative to onsite training for professional education on accent, the ‘business of doing business’ as trainers, and for unique applications.
What are these "webcasts" like?
When our webinars go live, attendees can participate from any location - with just their web browser and a separate telephone line.
Your program can include:
- Presentations featuring text and graphics
- Real-time viewing of any applications in the presenter's computer
- Interactive "white boarding"
- Audience polling
- "Follow-me" web browsing
- Live chat sessions, live and/or keyboarded Q&A
- Polished webinar handouts: Power Point notetaking slides and current bibliography/references.
Can you give me a brief overview of the process?
Our technical pipeline for these online ventures is 
iLinc handles the technical aspects of connectivity, allowing you to focus on the training. You find the courses you want on our Calendar of Events, pay for them by phone/fax or, preferably, online in our Web Store. On the day of the event, you are led to the appropriate link on your computer, click on it to see the program visually on your computer. You then dial the tollfree phone number to hear the audio portion of the conference.
No need to worry about technology issues because:
- iLinc captures your participation details (phone, computer) when you register. On the day of the training, each attendee joins the session simply by clicking an URL, and filling in their registration number and password (contained in your seminar confirmation.)
- when you register via the Calendar, iLinc automatically installs a one-time, very small browser plug-in ,to making your computer system "iLinc-ready."
- finally, both LDS and iLinc offer live support to ensure worry-free attendee participation!
