Level II Module A
Spotlight on a Language Family
Comments:
“I give the presenter’s delivery and the overall workshop a “5” for
excellent. The material was challenging and interesting, and the difficulty
was about right. It was all helpful, particularly the description of the characteristics
unique to each language and the explanation of why it is important to focus
on certain features when modifying accent. This course gave me a better understanding
of the features of Asian languages and how those features effect an individual’s
American accent.”

Level II B
Digging into Intonation: A Look at the Principles Involved
What was particularly helpful?
Specific characteristics of Asian languages. Activity ideas.
What was least helpful?
Learning strategies-could use more definitions/examples of them.
What improvements can you suggest for the next offering of this webinar in
the specific Level I Immersion Series?
More languages! Some examples of effective self-evaluation strategies.
Any other comments?
This was an excellent in-depth look at intonation. I will use many of the
ideas to improve my assessment and instruction, especially with my advanced
level clients.
