Tustin, CA: May 30, 2005

Lorna Sikorski, founder of LDS & Associates, LLC announces 2 juried articles are now available in professional journals for the Speech and Hearing profession:

SEMINARS IN SPEECH AND LANGUAGE/VOLUME 26, NUMBER 2 2005

Regional Accents: A Rationale for Intervening and Competencies Required

Lorna D. Sikorski, M.A.

SEMINARS IN SPEECH AND LANGUAGE/VOLUME 26, NUMBER 2 2005

Foreign Accents: Suggested Competencies for Improving Communicative Pronunciation

Lorna D. Sikorski, M.A.

These two papers on addressing second language/second dialect accents were submitted at the invitation of the journal’s editors. Growing numbers ASHA members are delivering instructional programs for ‘communicative pronunciation’. The papers will be of particular interest to speech pathologists who are currently adult trainers in the field of accent. Lorna Sikorski also suggests them to those seeking preliminary information about this practice area and who need an interesting starting point for their research efforts. Lorna hopes that this will stimulate active dialogue within membership publications, encouraging much needed outcomes research and more indepth explorations of accent and advanced ESL issues.
